Message From The Patron

In His grace, our awesome God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well and for doing with specific purpose (Rom 12:6-8).  He created everyone with unique abilities and talents to develop, showcase, and utilise them to serve our brothers and sisters, and thereby glorify God himself. As Leo Buscaglia reminds, “your talent is God’s Gift to you. What you do with it is your Gift back to God”.

I thank God for the variety of talents He has graciously bestowed on the people of God in the Syro-Malabar Apostolic Exarchate of Mississauga, Canada. The talents can be your amazing personality, musical ability, acting, preaching, painting, teaching skills, communication skills, or anything you are good at.
How do you use them? You may use it properly or lose it. Jesus has given us this  beautiful lesson in His parable of the talents (Mt 25: 14-30).  He gives to each one according to his ability. To all those who have, more will be given, and they will have abundance; but from those who are unproductive, even what they have will be taken from them.  God gives the talents to you for a reason. How are you using your talents to glorify God?
This is the rationale of the Divine Academy. It’s a big umbrella of different talented people; and definitely, a cultural platform for New Evangelization. This new evangelisation would be “new in its ardour, method and expression. Perhaps, in the beginning stage it may be a tiny plant; however, I strongly believe, by the grace of God and the selfless team work of numerous talented people – kids, youth, young adults, adults and elderly people -  this tiny plant will grow as a large tree and many will come and rest in its branches in the years to come.
Invoking God’s abundant blessings on each one of you
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Bishop Jose Kalluvelil
Apostolic Exarch of the Syro-Malabar Catholics in Canada
